THE ROLE:

Do you love to write blog articles? Are you addicted to social media management and responding back to DMs, comments, inquiries, and more? Would you love to be a Podcast host and have content distributed across Spotify and YouTube? Are you passionate about blog writing/SEO and would you love to put your skills to use to positively impact and assist our clients and followers?

The role of the Social Media Community Manager/Blog Writer will be to manage all our weekly social media duties and activities (i.e. scheduling of content, responding to DMs/comments, and more), as well as creating written content (i.e. writing monthly blogs and conducting keyword research). The mission of the Community Manager/Blog Writer will be to come up with insightful and relevant content ideas regularly that reflect the values of our brand while falling in line with our marketing strategy. This person will also be responsible for creating fresh blogs that are both educational and lifestyle related for our clients/audience. These blogs will be created according to our blog writing practices and SEO needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Loves to write a minimum of two long-form blog articles per month on academic-based and student lifestyle content (3000+ words each)
• Someone who is passionate about blog writing and can write high-quality blogs in a consistent manner through use of keyword planners and search volumes
• Someone who likes to do a final edit on all social media copy and schedules to social media platforms using a content calendar scheduler (i.e. such as SproutSocial)
• Loves to to manage all of the company’s incoming/outgoing direct messages (DMs), comments questions, and inquiries via SproutSocial platform (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Loves to build new relationships with social media influencers via influencer direct messaging (DM’ing) strategies based on specific locations, colleges, and universities
• Loves to provide monthly social media reports to team to assist in the creation of engaging social content
• Someone who loves to write and schedule monthly company newsletters via Mailchimp
• Someone who would love to be a Podcast Host and interview student influencers for our Spotify podcast and YouTube show
• Someone who can take constructive criticism well and provide initiative in regards to ideas and potential projects
• Loves special projects and taking on creative and interesting tasks to help the company grow
• Someone that practically and intuitively uses cultural trends on social media whenever possible
• Loves to analyze SEO trends or is willing to learn more about them to leverage in strategic written content

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High-school Diploma, College Diploma, or University Degree
• Minimum 1 year experience in social media management and blog writing
• Works with a high-level of efficiency and able to multitask with different platforms
• Team player that works well with others and loves to collaborate
• Can work independently with minimal to no supervision
• Basic or working knowledge of tools such as Slack, SproutSocial, WordPress, Moz Pro, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, etc.
• Basic or working knowledge of SEO practices
