Here are 10 Netflix series that you need to binge watch

Student desk with Netflix app open Remember the days when you would explore your cable guide and think, “wow, there’s literally nothing on TV…” Well, thanks to technology (and Netflix), this isn’t really the case anymore. Like other streaming services, Netflix (the OG of movie and television streaming) offers thousands of options for your viewing pleasure. As a student, Netflix is the best and worst case scenario! For time management, it’s not awesome – but, for binge-watching with friends, it is a dream come true. With so many options, choosing a new series can be rather difficult. To help make your decision easier, here are 10 Netflix series to binge watch.

1. Stranger Things

There’s a reason this show became an overnight sensation. With a supernatural storyline, this sci-fi tale covers all the basics: humour, romance, horror, action … we just can’t get enough! Season 2 airs in October 2018 so it’s the perfect time to catch up.

2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

If you’re looking for a quirky comedy, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is a great option. With a fully grown adult woman experiencing the real world after spending years’ captive in a bunker, this satirical comedy will keep you thinking, “are you fudging kidding me?”

3. GLOW

GLOW stands for the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, and this show is anything but glamourous. From the makers of Orange is the New Black (another Netflix classic) this show allows you to gain a real sense of the character’s experiences and how they’ve come to be.

4. Flaked

This show is completely underrated. With very short seasons, it’s quick to get through but keeps you completely enthralled the entire time. Is Chip misunderstood or just a real piece of work? That’s for you to decide.

5. Friends From College

The characters from this hot new series are just a complete mess, but this is what makes this show a must-watch. Are these people even friends or do they actually all hate each other? With the poor choices they make, you’ll be glad you’re not a part of this crew.

6. Ozark

If you are a Jason Bateman fan, you need to watch Ozark. This dramatic series is full of suspense, drama, and crime. Working for a drug lord and uprooting his family (including his cheating spouse) to launder more money in a desperate attempt to stay alive, this series will keep you on the edge of your seat.

7. Riverdale

Betty, Veronica, Jughead, and of course the beloved Archie are at the core of this new series which takes a modern twist on those classic Archie comic books. With a murder being the core focus of this series, characters will go through love, heartbreak, and betrayal, all while finding themselves.

8. Master of None

Featuring comedian Aziz Ansari, this series is 2 seasons in and a total crowd-pleaser. The weird part about this series is that there isn’t really a main focus to the show as a whole – it’s just about a guy named Dev and how he’s navigating life, love, and a career.

9. Love

This show is funny, relatable, and full of love – and heartbreak, frustration, screaming matches… you know, usual stuff that happens in relationships. PSA: This show is absolutely addictive and will have you anxiously awaiting season 3 in no time.

10. Atypical

This dramatic comedy is new to Netflix but is one that will likely become the next big hit. It’s about a dysfunctional family that deals with the triumphs and tribulations of dating, education, and autism.

As a student, taking time for yourself to kick back and relax is important, and these Netflix shows are sure to help make that easy.
