Art history, also known today as Visual Culture, refers to the study of objects of art in their historical development and stylistic contexts. These may include a variety of considerations ranging from form, subject and style. The discipline of Art History includes the study of painting, sculpture, and architecture, in addition to more nuanced crafts including ceramics, furniture, and other decorative objects. In addition, our Art Historical experts are trained in art theory and philosophy, cultural studies, classics and linguistics. We are able to articulate art historical analyses of cultural artefacts over the entire spectrum of human history and evolution.
